Together with communities, we are reshaping family services in Nunavik in a way to honor Inuit values from the earliest moments of life through adulthood.

In 2026, our Inukjuak team will begin a new way of supporting families in Nunavik. Local Inuit will lead the work and take part in decisions that affect families and children.
This is the first step toward services that listen better, respect Inuit values, and support our future.
Become a foster family
Opening your home to an Inuit child is an act of love that helps keep our culture alive. When you welcome a child, you give them safety, warmth, and a sense of belonging, something every child deserves.
We are looking for new Inuit families, year-round, who can welcome children for short or long stay. You will be supported every step of the way by our caring Anirraulaurtutut Kamajinga team.

We are rebuilding care in Nunavik, based on Inuit knowledge and practices. For generations, our ancestors cared for one another with innovation, strength, and unity. Nunavimmi Ilagiit Papatauvinga is rooted in discussion and consensus. It will ensure decisions for our children’s wellbeing are made by Inuit, for Inuit.

Together we stand
In March 2025, we signed an important Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) so we can start working together, a united Nunavik. Our goal? To offer integrated child and family services by Inuit, for Inuit.
This is more than a legal agreement. It is an official commitment that we are working together, that Nunavimmiut families receive support in a way that reflects our culture, values, and traditions.
